Workyard Kit

The Workyard Kit is a free-play inspired playground custom designed for the High Line in Manhattan. The kit of parts is full of wood planks, wheels, ropes, pulleys, cranks, nuts and wing bolts that encourage kids to play and learn through building. The kit reflects the High Line’s industrial history in its honest materiality.
I was fortunate enough to collaborate with designer Cas Holman and Friends of the High Line as a junior designer on this project. In 2011, the Workyard Kit was awarded a design distinction from ID Magazine and is now commercially available as Rigamajig.
